Hi All! I'm also mostly into "old school" rock and indie. In no particular order:

The Beatles (but of course)
The Rolling Stones (their 1960's and 70's stuff kicks more ass than anything that came after!)
The Who
The Velvet Underground
The Stooges
Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers
Big Star
Roxy Music
David Bowie
Joy Division
New Order
Magazine
Buzzcocks
Bauhaus
Wire
XTC (Kaiser Chiefs learnt a lot from them)
Gang of Four (Bloc Party stole a lot from them)
Talking Heads
Patti Smith
Blondie
Television
Richard Hell & The Voidoids
The dBs
B-52's
Wall of Voodoo
The Ramones
The Sex Pistols
The Clash
The Damned
The Jam
The Stranglers
The Police
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
The Fall
Altered Images
Soft Cell
Ultravox
Gary Numan
Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark (only those records before Andy McCluskey started writing crappy Top 40-friendly songs like Locomotion)
Heaven 17
Yellow Magic Orchestra
Echo & The Bunnymen
The Teardrop Explodes
Siouxsie & The Banshees
U2
Big Country
The Waterboys
Simple Minds
Cocteau Twins
The Smiths
Lloyd Cole & The Commotions
The Jesus & Mary Chain
The Wedding Present (mostly from the 1985 - 1989 period)
R.E.M.
Husker Du
Sugar
Nirvana
Dinosaur Jr.
The Pixies
The Breeders
Throwing Muses
Belly
Inspiral Carpets
Manic Street Preachers

As for the "newer" or "younger" lot:
Death Cab for Cutie
John Vanderslice
Nada Surf
Bloc Party
Kaiser Chiefs
The Killers
Franz Ferdinand
The Magic Numbers
Interpol

Quite a long list from off the top of my head, I know, hehe! And there's more! And you know what? I still buy vinyl! Haha!
